Weirs on the Vltava river and how accessible they are

1. Vyšší Brod – weir U Bílého mlýna

A steep weir which tests canoeists in particular at the beginning of the trip. Ride on the left side, and carry your boat on the left bank if needed.

2. Herbertov – weir Horní mlýn

A dangerous weir which is passable to the right along a wooden slide. You can carry your boat along the right bank. The weir is impassable over the crown and forms a counter-current below it.

3. Rožmberk – weir Dolní mlýn

A dangerous weir which is passable on the right. You can carry your boat on the right bank. The weir is impassable over the crown and forms a counter-current below it.

4. Větřní – weir Pečkovský mlýn

The weir is passable through a sluice on the right and you can carry your boat on the right bank. Don’t try to ride your boat across the weir even if the water is high.

5. Nové Spolí – weir Konopa

The steep Konopa weir is also known as the Parrot Rocks among rafters. You can ride it down on the right, the best on the left side.

6. Český Krumlov – weir Na Rechlích

The weir can be ridden down the wooden slide on the right. You can also carry your boat along the right side.

7. Český Krumlov – weir U Liry

A steep weir, passable on the left. Boats can be transported on the right along the stone footbridge.

8. Český Krumlov – weir Mrázkům mlýn

A dangerous weir which is passable on the left. You can carry your boat on the right bank.

9. Český Krumlov – weir U Jelení lávky

A steep weir with a wide pass on the left side. You can also carry your boat along the left bank.

10. Zlatá Koruna – weir Zlatá koruna

A steep weir, passable on the right. You can carry your boat on the right bank.

11. Boršov na Vltavou – weir U Rybů

This unmarked weir can be ridden down the broken weir on the left. You can also carry your boat along the right bank.

12. Boršov nad Vltavou – weir Zátkův mlýn

An impassable weir – carry your boat along the left bank.
